Mrs. Mackey brings to MFA Cornerstone Consulting over fourteen years of business and financial experience. She plays an instrumental role in helping the firm's clients optimize performance, control risk and adhere to regulatory compliance. Her ability to examine, identify and evaluate complex procedures and systems results in proven, practical recommendations that positively impact clients’ business processes.
Michelle is sought after by clients for her expertise, particularly in the area of business process efficiency and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance. In addition, as a Certified Fraud Examiner, Michelle works closely with clients to identify areas of fraud susceptibility within their current systems, procedures and transactions. She also assists in the development, review and refinement of clients’ internal controls and critical oversight processes.
Prior to MFA, Michelle’s professional career included serving as controller for an international organic commodities trading company; senior SOX compliance specialist for a multi-million dollar international financial company; and a consultant providing internal audit, SOX compliance, and forensic accounting services to a diverse client base.
